List of Work Packages

The work is structured in seven (7) discrete, yet inter-correlated work packages. Each WP has been broken down further into tasks. The tasks are the individual actions needed for WP’s completion.

Below is a list of the 7 work packages and tasks.

Work Package I: PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND COORDINATION
    1. Project Kick-off Meeting (KoM) organization.
    2. Draw up the Project Management Manual (PMM) and establish the Project Monitoring System (PMS).
    3. Implementation of the Project Monitoring System.
    4. Innovation Management Activities.
    5. Organization of Project Meetings.
    6. Relations with the Funding Authority.
    7. Reporting.
  1. Work Package II: STAKEHOLDERS INPUTS
    1. Literature survey.
    2. Collecting data from stakeholders.
  2. Work Package III: INTEGRATED MONITORING, EARTH OBSERVATION (EO)- DERIVED DATA SETS MANAGEMENT
    1. Determination of the area of current agricultural lands throughout the Kingdom.
    2. Quarterly change in the agricultural areas.
    3. Calculation of actual water consumption rates for each crop and volume of water consumption for agricultural purposes from all sources.
    4. Inventory of the irrigation methods.
    5. Building a water consumption measurement system.
    6. Map preparation and GIS integration of data.
    7. Verification of results.
  3. Work Package IV: WATER BALANCE AND INDICATORS CALCULATION
    1. Assessment of water resources and mapping.
    2. Calculation of soil water balance and define an irrigation scheduling.
    3. Remote Sensing techniques to evaluate performance indicators for agriculture water quantities.
    4. Hydrological Modeling Results.
  4. Work Package V:AGRICULTURE GEODATABASE SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT (AGSD)
    1. Data and Information Inventory.
    2. Data Model Design and Optimization.
    3. Application Development, Data Loading and Data QA/QC.
  5. Work Package VI: KNOWLEDGE, TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER AND CAPACITY BUILDING
    1. Identify connection with main end-users.
    2. Protection of project outcomes & results, and IP management.
    3. Meetings with Stakeholders and end-users.
    4. Communication, vision and dissemination strategy.
    5. Design of visual identify, logo and promotional material.
    6. Design, set up & maintenance of Project Website.
    7. Foster capacity building and transfer of knowledge.
    8. Test workshops.
    9. Final conference.
  6. Work Package VII: REPORTING
    1. Reporting.
